ANTHONY COMBS HOOP DREAMS

Anthony Combs - FGFS - Premier Fits - Capone Bikes - Hoop Dreams 2
Anthony Combs - FGFS - Premier Fits - Capone Bikes - Into The Sun
Anthony Combs - FGFS - Fixed Gear Freestyle - Wheel Talk - Capone Bikes - Basket Ball Court Barspin
Everybody has dreams and Anthony Combs has dreams to one day sore high over the hoop and dunk his bicycle. With only seconds left on the clock we were able to capture a couple quick photos before the buzzer rang and he scored the game winning shot. Bringing home the title, saving the day and anything else sports related you can think of. He’s been riding Ed Wonka’s signature frame by Capone Bikes for a couple months now and has been real stoked on the upgrade. Be on the look out for a complete bike check of his build coming next week. Until then check out more photos below.

MICHAEL PENROSE – SF SMITH

MichaelPenrose_SF2015_FGFS_FountainSmith1
For every spot they kill with caps or tear out completely, there’s another one that’s finishing up being built. The only trouble with that is riding it before they have a chance to realize what they’ve made and kill it with caps again. It’s a vicious cycle, but with all of the construction going on in SF, it’s easy to find something new. Here are a couple angles of Michael Penrose doing a smith line at a spot we just recently stumble across. Keep your eyes peeled for the clip in the upcoming Wheel Talk full length.

ED WONKA – CHINA TOWN 2015

Ed Wonka Laforte - Capone Bikes - Laforte Frame - Alley Way Barspin
EdWonkaLaforte_CaponeBikes_LaforteFrame_AlleyWayHop
A couple weeks ago I met up w/ Ed “Wonka” Laforte and cruised around San Francisco’s China Town. We wondered up and down the network of alleyways in search of spots that we may have previously overlooked. What Chi town lacks in french fires, it more than makes up for in congested streets riddled with trash & clothes hung out to dry. Ed has been riding his signature frame from Capone Bikes for a little more than a month now and has been going harder than ever on it. Keep your eyes peeled for more photos from this day coming soon.

MATT REYES | WALLRIDE B&W

Matt Reyes - San Francisco Wallride - BW 2014
Considering the fact that everybody posts old photos on thursday, here’s some dusty shots that Ramon Antonio III took of me riding in San Francisco a while back. There’s few tricks that offer the same kind of feeling as sitting sideways on a wallride. They’re an immediate go to trick and are a blast to sporadically smash walls on the daily commute around town. I’ve had a couple different run ins w/ SFPD who apparently don’t appreciate the trick as much as I do. I’ve hopped on the curb to catch a quick wallride in the past, then landed and looked up into the eyes of two police officers who immediately struck a pose and attempted to tackle me off the bike. Nothing a little swerve in the opposite direction can’t fix. Photo Credit : Ramon Antonio III

MATT REYES | VALLEJO 2014

Matt Reyes - Turf Bikes - Vallejo - 360 Roof Gap

Matt Reyes - Wheel Talk - 35mm

Matt Reyes - Turf Bikes - Vallejo City Hall
With public transportation reigning supreme in the Bay Area, it’s rare that we ride anywhere that isn’t within range of the bus, bart, train, ferry, or riding to the spot. It’s always great having Dave Beard come out to take behind the scenes photos when we go out to ride. This day was the first time I did a tooth hangover down a handrail or 360 over gap with a fatal drop. After a successful day of being guided from spot to spot by Ramon Antonio, we wrapped up the day by hitting the Vallejo Skatepark before we headed home. Check out more photos from our trip to Vallejo HERE.

RAMON ANTONIO III | VALLEJO

Ramon Antonio III - Vallejo 2014 - Pegs To Fakie

Ramon Antonio III - Vallejo 2014 - Clip Review
With Bart only running as far north as Richmond, we needed alternate transportation to make the trek to ride street spots in Vallejo. Ramon Antonio III came through w/ the Rack Solid Van, making it possible for this trip to happen. I’ve never seen Ramon ride as hard as he did that day, catching clips on every rail spot we went to. Double peg up & down to cab, Xup over the rail, Pegs to Suicide, etc. Check out more photos from our trip to Vallejo on Dave’s Blog HERE or read more below.

MATT REYES | NEW YORK 2013

Matt Reyes - Wheel Talk - New York 2013 - Wall Ride Sequence

Matt Reyes - Wheel Talk - New York 2013 - Brooklyn Peel Sessions - Wall 180

Matt Reyes - Wheel Talk - New York 2013 - Brooklyn Peel Sessions

Last Summer I flew out to New York with Dew Sippawit and stayed at Ed “Wonka” Laforte’s house in Brooklyn. Here’s a handful of older photos that were taken during our two week stay and never released until now. If you went to the Word Is Bond Premiere in SF then you’ve probably already seen the sequence wallride off the red cellar door. Or if you’ve watched the Wheel Talk 2013 Edit I put out last year then I’m sure you recognize the clip. Aside from that, It was rad riding the spot where Peel Sessions was held (beneath a bridge in Brooklyn). A location that may as well been known as the birthplace of FGFS. If you haven’t heard of it until now, I suggest you do some digging into the history of Fixed Gear Freestyle and get up to speed. Check out some more photos from NY HERE. Photo Credit – Dew Sippawit

As we gear up to release the video from the Wheel Talk trip to Japan last year, I dug up a bunch of photos that were never posted. Between Seitaro Iki and myself, we shot a ton of stills and even more video. Documenting everything from our daily expeditions around whatever town we were in that day, to our nightly pit stop at Yayoiken for dinner. Keep it posted for the video release, until then check out more photographs HERE. Photo Credit : Seitaro Iki & Matt Reyes

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been a year since we stepped foot in Japan. After spending two weeks traveling around the Country, we had grown accustomed to drinking Hennessy with our native friends & sweating it out at the end of everyday in the unbelievably humid climate. If it wasn’t boiling hot outside, it was dumping buckets of rain. Never the less, we quickly overlooked the unfamiliar climate in awe of the unbelievable street spots Japan had to offer. The white shells on the top photo were probably my favorite slice of architecture we encountered. They’d never build something like that in California. They’re far too aware of the consequences to construct such a perfect potato chip. Big thanks to Seitaro Iki for shooting a ton of behind the scenes photos and YSO for making this all happen. Check out more photos from our 2013 trip to Japan HERE.

ED WONKA | SLIVER OF LIGHT

With the summer in full effect, we’ve been making use of the extended daylight and doing a lot of filming after work. Here’s an older photo I found of Ed Wonka doing a smith with only a sliver of light left illuminating the spot. Although this photograph is only a few months old, the loading dock has been completely covered by cement and fenced off. We managed to shoot this image a couple days before they remodeled the exterior of the building and covered up the spot. Photo Credit : Matt Reyes
