MICHAEL PENROSE – 1 DAY VIDEO

Mike Schmitt took Michael Penrose on a tour of some of the greener parts of San Francisco and filmed this one day edit of their excursion. I’ve been real stoked on all of the videos TURF has been putting out now that MTS has a camera of his own. Expect to see a lot more content coming out of the Bay Area, and keep your eyes peeled for Michael’s section in the upcoming Wheel Talk video.

TADASHI NAKAMURA SF 2015

After flying over 8,337 km from Japan to San Francisco, Tadashi Nakamura spent two weeks riding and hanging out w/ us here in the Bay Area. We filmed for two days while he was on vacation and. from that, we were able to put together this video of his stay in the States. Filmed on January 17/18 2015.

ED WONKA – CHINA TOWN 2015

Ed Wonka Laforte - Capone Bikes - Laforte Frame - Alley Way Barspin

A couple weeks ago I met up w/ Ed “Wonka” Laforte and cruised around San Francisco’s China Town. We wondered up and down the network of alleyways in search of spots that we may have previously overlooked. What Chi town lacks in french fires, it more than makes up for in congested streets riddled with trash & clothes hung out to dry. Ed has been riding his signature frame from Capone Bikes for a little more than a month now and has been going harder than ever on it. Keep your eyes peeled for more photos from this day coming soon.

I was real stoked to have Tadashi Nakamura come to town and ride with us in San Francisco during the later half of January. For every clip he stacked there was an even more brutal fall. I’ve been piecing together a video from his travels and am in the middle of wrapping everything up and getting it ready to release. Keep your eyes peeled for a new video dropping early next week.

Tadashi Nakamura - San Francisco 2015 - The Walls Are Closing In - Wheel Talk

When Seitaro told me that his buddy from Japan was coming to San Francisco to ride and explore the city, I was immediately hyped. Less than a week later, Tadashi Nakamura appeared at a hotel in our neighborhood where he would be staying for the next two weeks. I rode over there after work, scooped him up, and wasting no time in showing him around town. Here are a couple photos from when we explored the tunnels along the railroad tracks on his last full day in The Bay. Check out more shots below and keep your eyes peeled for the video from his stay coming soon.

FGFS SUPER BOWL SUNDAY 2015

Nothing brings a family together like the Super Bowl, and we couldn’t agree more. For this year’s big game, we hit the streets of San Francisco for a day filled of false starts, interceptions, city poop, field goals and the occasional trick or two. I woke up Sunday morning, made a couple calls and met up with the dudes downtown where we rode from the late afternoon until the sunset. This is what you can find us doing on any given weekend. Read More and check out screen shots from the video below.

35mm - Dew Sippawit - Wheel Talk - Us Versus Them - San Francisco Bay Ferry
35mm - Dew Sippawit - Mike Schmitt - San Francisco - Back Alley Barspin
It feels like only yesterday that Dew Sippawit was surfing our couch here in the Bay Area while we ventured around San Francisco looking for a good time. Here’s some 35mm photos from a recently developed roll, as well as some shots from a not so recently developed roll of film. If there’s one thing I miss about the Thai dudes being here, it’s the authentic Thai cuisine they whipped up for the family every night. There’s nothing like stopping by the asian market to pick up some cheap produce before before heading home to a warm meal and whiskey. Read more below, or check out more 35mm photos HERE.

MATT REYES | WALLRIDE B&W

Matt Reyes - San Francisco Wallride - BW 2014
Considering the fact that everybody posts old photos on thursday, here’s some dusty shots that Ramon Antonio III took of me riding in San Francisco a while back. There’s few tricks that offer the same kind of feeling as sitting sideways on a wallride. They’re an immediate go to trick and are a blast to sporadically smash walls on the daily commute around town. I’ve had a couple different run ins w/ SFPD who apparently don’t appreciate the trick as much as I do. I’ve hopped on the curb to catch a quick wallride in the past, then landed and looked up into the eyes of two police officers who immediately struck a pose and attempted to tackle me off the bike. Nothing a little swerve in the opposite direction can’t fix. Photo Credit : Ramon Antonio III

TURF BIKES – SUNDAZE EP.7

With the rain holding up for the day, we took advantage of the cloudy weather to ride in the eye of the storm we seem to be stuck in. Gus Molina took the ferry into The City to meet up with us and ride around Japan Town. Ramon Antonio & I both stacked a couple rail clips to add to the ever growing pile off footage we’ve been sitting on. Mike Schmitt found this hubba and thought he had a spot until the run up proved to be too short, so we quickly labeled it “wack” and moved on. As quickly as I mentioned it stopped raining, it went right back to dumping buckets and looks like its going to continue to do so for the rest of the week. Check out more photos below, or lurk through photos from some of the other Sunday adventures we’ve had in the past.

ALEX GONZALEZ + BB17

Alex Gonzalez‘s Welcome to BreakBrake17 was filmed over the course of two days in San Francisco. I followed him around the city as we ripped around China Town, cleaned up trash down alleyways and bombed between the trolley tracks on California St. It’s rare to see people hopping around and doing track tricks on an aluminum frame. People now a days either ride track bikes built for speed or have transitioned into riding Fixed Freestyle. Alex is one of the few people who blends both styles of riding and shreds everywhere he goes. Stop reading, press play and enjoy.
