Here’s some 35mm photos from the Fixed Gear Open 6 competition that was held in (Beijing) China earlier this year. I can’t even begin to describe or explain what a fucking good time this trip was. Having Dew Sippawit & Jaoa Danaikrit there for every step of the adventure was a crucial part of the trip and made going about life in this foreign land even easier. If you’ve never been on a trip w/ the homies, I highly advise you plan one; it’s quite possibly the only way to travel. Ines Brunn was there to compete and show people a side of fixed gear that most have forgotten and little attempt. The Thai boys came through and destroyed the cheese wedge I managed to catch shots of Jaoa’s tabletop and Dew’s tuck no hander to barspin. Check out more 35mm photos HERE.

Every so often the dudes from San Jose come up to stay at our pad in the East Bay and ride over the weekend. Jimmy Watcha, Kent Ly, and Luciano Ortiz are just a few of the local riders from SJ that you should keep your eye on. After a long day of riding street spots in Oakland, we hit up China Town to grab some cheap grub before riding back under the bay through the Webster Tube. Check out more 35mm Photos HERE.

ALAMEDA SKATEPARK SEND OFF

After more than 3 months of surfing the couches at our pad in Alameda, Dew Sippawit & Jaoa Danaikrit reluctantly flew back to Thailand last month. We celebrated their final day in the States by kicking back and cutting loose at the local skatepark. A couple of dudes from San Jose drove up the day before to ride and bid the Thai boys a proper farewell. We stacked a ton of footage while they were here, and just got back from a trip to China, so keep your eyes peeled for more of Dew & Jaoa coming in the near future. Read more and check out some stills from the video below.

After flying over 5,900 Miles over the pacific from San Francisco to China for the 2014 Fixed Gear Open 6 in Beijing I had seen a lot of places and met even more people. Dew Sippawit & Jaoa Danaikrit met up with me out there shred and stack clips as a team. Dew threw some huge tuck no hander to barspins, 180 tuck no handers, nose manual to barspins, and ended up winning the Freestyle event. Jaoa Danaikrit came in a close second and I won the high jump clearing 105cm. It was amazing to see so many talented young riders in China and inspiring to watch Ines Brunn ride who has a stye unlike anybody I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I’ve ever taken so many photos, signed so many autographs, or smiled so much in my life. Thank you for all the riders who love this community enough to put on this event and make this sport happen.

WHEEL TALK JAPAN TRIP 2013

After nearly a year in the making and being put on the back burner in order to produce “Word Is Bond“, here’s the official video from the Wheel Talk Trip to Japan. Filmed over the course of our two week stay and was made possible because of our dudes from Fish & Chips Crew. After traveling around the Southern tip of Japan on a 9 State tour, and flying out to Tokyo to visit Marco we were only able to scratch the surface on what unreal street spots Japan had to offer. I don’t know if there’s much more I can say about this trip that I haven’t already, so press play and check out some screenshots below.

As we gear up to release the video from the Wheel Talk trip to Japan last year, I dug up a bunch of photos that were never posted. Between Seitaro Iki and myself, we shot a ton of stills and even more video. Documenting everything from our daily expeditions around whatever town we were in that day, to our nightly pit stop at Yayoiken for dinner. Keep it posted for the video release, until then check out more photographs HERE. Photo Credit : Seitaro Iki & Matt Reyes

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been a year since we stepped foot in Japan. After spending two weeks traveling around the Country, we had grown accustomed to drinking Hennessy with our native friends & sweating it out at the end of everyday in the unbelievably humid climate. If it wasn’t boiling hot outside, it was dumping buckets of rain. Never the less, we quickly overlooked the unfamiliar climate in awe of the unbelievable street spots Japan had to offer. The white shells on the top photo were probably my favorite slice of architecture we encountered. They’d never build something like that in California. They’re far too aware of the consequences to construct such a perfect potato chip. Big thanks to Seitaro Iki for shooting a ton of behind the scenes photos and YSO for making this all happen. DEW & JAOA | KOREA TRIP 2013

Jaoa Danaikrit just released another one of the sections he put together for Can’t Fool The Youth 3 (CFTY3). This one features Dew Sippawit and himself riding around South Korea after their stay here in The States last year. Jaoa does an incredible job capturing the spirit of the trip with good vibes & good tunes the whole way through. I appreciated the fact that there was a healthy mix of not only solid riding, but b-roll shots of the culture and the places they saw along the way. It made me feel like I was right there along with them as they explored what Korea had to offer. Check out some screen shots I pulled below.

THAI SAN FRANCISCO TRIP 2013

Jaoa Danaikrit just released this video from his & Dew Sippawit’s stay here in the states last year. They surfed the couches at our house in San Francisco for most of their trip and stacked up enough video to put together this recap which was used in Can’t Fool The Youth 3. If you haven’t already seen the full video, then I suggest you head over to Chop Em Down and pick up a copy of this limited edition press. I’m stoked that he took the time to put together a hardcover book to come along with it using. Jaoa nailed it with this one combining a perfect mixture of lifestyle and riding footage, the splendor of which almost brought a tear to my eye. Check out more of Jaoa’s videos over at A Tunnel Films.

JAOA DANAIKRIT | CHINA BANKS

Jaoa Danaikrit - China Banks - San Francisco
The other day Jaoa Danaikrit and I went riding around down town and made a pit stop at one of the most iconic spots in San Francisco. The China Banks are deceptively difficult to ride, have been capped for as long as I can remember, and can be a quick bust if you draw too much attention to yourself. Nobody ever said riding street was easy, and despite the challenge, this is one of the sickest spots to ride.
