FIXED GEAR PDX – FREE PARKING

We’re always looking for a new roof to ride on and lucky for us Portland’s downtown is packed full of empty parking garages. All of which have an elevator that takes you straight to the top. Ideal for most hang out situations, we highly recommend you check your local listings and find a parking structure near you. Just because it’s built for cars doesn’t mean we can’t have our fun.

FIXIE 420 IN SAN FRANCISCO 2K18

420 is a special time of year in San Francisco. It’s celebrated as a national Holiday in The City. We celebrated in our own way by meeting up at the Island (as usual) and riding around until the 420 Alley Cat that they held the day before Mission Crit. Check out that video HERE. Chris “Thrasher” is outta control with those triangle stands downhill. Enough to make your palms sweat just watching the man. Andy sparks stays in the mix and Keo Kid is way too good with those back pedals. It was great having a bunch of people from outta town here for the big crit in The City. Mission Crit is going to be on 420 this year (2019) so mark your calendar and we’ll see you there.

FGFS PDX – TADASHI NAKAMURA “COMPLETE THE CIRCLE”

“Uhhm, okay.” – Tadashi Nakamura said those words a lot during his time with us. Mostly after we just finished coaxing him into going for a clip, but sometimes after we asked a complicated question. We have a lotta love for Tadashi. He stayed with us back when we used to live in the Tenderloin in SF. Check out that video HERE. That was a crazy house.

Anyways… Let’s get back to our time in Portland. After Jaoa left, Tadashi took over his room and rotated in giving us a chance to shoot this quick video before he flew back to Japan. Which I’m really glad we did and don’t know why we didn’t think to film more sooner. It’s amazing what we can do with only a handful of film days. Until next time my dude. ✌

FIXED GEAR PORTLAND – SEASONS CHANGE

Name 3 things you’re thankful for. Us; Fixies, Friends, Good times. Last Saturday, Sam Allgood and I met up to ride around downtown Portland. We stumbled across a protest in the middle of our ride and rode alongside some one wheel, street bike ninja who demonstrated his karate skills (see video for details). Shout out the homie @DRGNKIDD (Jeff Osborn) for the soundtrack and Sam for tag teaming the filming of this video. Keep your eyes peeled for more videos coming from Sam and I.

FIXED GEAR SF – POV – GOLDEN GATE AVE 2 THE ISLAND

The day after 420 I hopped on my bike and headed downtown to meet up with the gang who were all in town for Mission Crit 5. I took the usual route, but right before I dropped down the hill I strapped on the chest cam and hit record. That 13 minute clip turned into this 4:20 edit you see before you. This was perhaps the my first attempt at filming with this GoPro I picked up. Definitely learned a lot since and even more after chopping this together. Either way, press play and enjoy.

JAOA DANAIKRIT & DEVON LAWSON IN SAN FRANCISCO

In light of the recent release “Bring Something Back”, we figured we’d make a post of some of the photos from that day. It’s not often that Devon, Jaoa and I are all together these days, so we thought we’d make the most of it while the planets were aligned. We met up in the Pan Handle and made our way through downtown and into Hunter’s Point. It’s always fun seeing what areas you can get into without causing anybody any grief. The City is growing pretty rapidly and a lot of those places are disappearing, but luckily for us there’s still plenty of places left to explore.

FIXED GEAR – BRING SOMETHING BACK

During our last trip to SF, Jaoa Danaikrit & I met up w/ Devon Lawson and rode through downtown to the industrial part of The City. A lot of passing the camera around and long cuts in this one. We don’t usually make vlog type videos like this, but this was fun to cut together. Maybe we’ll make more, what do you think?

FIXED GEAR PORTLAND – JAOA’S BIRTHDAY AFTERMATH

We all woke up feeling crispy the day after Jaoa Danaikrit’s Birthday. That being said we decided to keep it mellow and spend the day at the arcade. Ground Kontrol is one of our local watering holes and is an endless source of entertainment. Afterwards we decided to take the long way home and go for a quick jaunt through “Forest Park” to show Devon and Anthony some of the other things the great state of Oregon has to offer. I think we bit off more than we could chew when both Jaoa and I started to bonk halfway along the trail. Never the less, we all made it home in one piece. Just in time to BBQ before the sun went down. It was really amazing to have all the homies in town at the same time, and I already miss having Jaoa around the house. We’ll have to get the band back together more often. Until next time.

PATCHED IN PARTY AT THE CHROME PDX HUB

“These go to 11”. Backyard Blam is at it again, this time with a benefit concert for Dirty Needle Embroidery. We kicked things off around 6 o’clock and didn’t wrap things up until well after midnight. With more beer than we knew what to do with and musical performances by Amanda Sundvor, Icy Dave, and a Nirvana cover band called “Bliss”, the vibes were strong. Shout out to everybody who came out to kick it and contribute to the good times. Check out all the photos from this night HERE.
