Jaoa Danaikrit just posted some screen shots from the Wheel Talk in Thailand video he’s gearing up to release. I remember him spending countless hours working on this video in our kitchen while he was staying here in the states. Keep your eyes peeled for this one because there’s never been a FGFS video with this level of production value. As we gear up for the new year, we figured we’d spread a little holiday cheer and release the latest Wheel Talk production we’ve been working on. Devon Lawson & I (Matt Reyes) have been in cahoots with the dudes from Premier Fits for a while now and are just now unveiling our welcome to the team video. Major thanks to PF for lacing us up some sweet headwear and shout out to Anthony Combs for coming through with a quick cameo on the opening clip. With the new year right around the corner I took the time today to go through and post some photos from when Jaoa Danaikrit was staying with us in the Bay Area earlier this year. My personal favorite photo from this set is the shot of Jaoa standing next to my Dad (Wheel Talk Team Manager) after a long day at the horse races in Berkley. There’s nothing like betting on ponies, drinking dollar beers, and eating hot dogs while spending quality time with the family. The shot of everybody posted up next to the Rack Solid van was from the day we filmed the “Alameda Send Off” video of the Thai dudes last day in town. Yesterday I went riding around San Francisco w/ Anthony Combs who crashed out in the little bungalow beneath my bed the night before. We checked out the new skatepark they built beneath the highway and rode some spots in the surrounding neighborhoods. Mike laced Anthony up the new aluminum TURF Cranks, sprocket, and a front hub. The find of the day definitely had to be the load of florescent lightbulbs we found wedged into a street can in the TL. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden with Anthony but I guarantee that you’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the near future.
After more than 3 months of surfing the couches at our pad in Alameda, Dew Sippawit & Jaoa Danaikrit reluctantly flew back to Thailand last month. We celebrated their final day in the States by kicking back and cutting loose at the local skatepark. A couple of dudes from San Jose drove up the day before to ride and bid the Thai boys a proper farewell. We stacked a ton of footage while they were here, and just got back from a trip to China, so keep your eyes peeled for more of Dew & Jaoa coming in the near future. I came across these photos of Minkyu Sim while transferring footage from Dew & Jaoa’s memory card. Minkyu came out to the Bay Area and stayed with us while he was in town for Ride N Style this year. He was the only dude to come out for the event from Korea and just recently has been in basic training for mandatory military service. With more than 30 riders from all over the world competing in the freestyle event, things were bound to get wild as everybody geared up for the 2014 Red Bull Ride & Style. Each year they mix up the course and this year they really out did themselves creating one of the best flowing layouts to date. Everyone brought their A-game that day as they stepped up to the plate to empty out their bag of tricks. Elliott Milner brought was linking together lines on the park like he’s ridden it his whole life. Jakob Santos hucked something huge off just about every object there. Joe Mckeag showed everyone what it looks like to ride transition, and Johnathan Ball wasn’t letting anything go untouched. There’s too much that went down for me to even begin to discuss, so I’m just going to have to let the video speak for itself. Read more below to see the final results. This is it folks, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Here’s the official dates for the Turf Bikes “Word Is Bond” Video Premieres. We’ll be having 2 events before the internet release on April 20th. The San Francisco Premiere will be at Lower Branch in the Tenderloin. Admission will be 2 dollars and we’ll be having a photo exhibition as well. Dave Beard, Ed Wonka & I collaborated to compile some of the better photos we’ve shot this year. On April 12th we’re having another ride / premiere in San Jose. We’re meeting up in Down Town SJ around 4 and riding spots until we head over to iMiNUSD. I locked eyes on these photos of our dude Anthony Combs up on HMMRDWN and was hypnotized into posting them here. That haunting gaze and ice pick on the now famous Fixie Factory Rail somehow makes me want to eat some McDonalds. Strange. Photo Credit : Jason Sellers
