THE INEVITABLE
I remember going through tubes, and entire patch kits on the daily when I ran 700’s, but as rare of an event it is riding 26’s, flat tires are an inevitable part of riding bikes. Flats are the easiest way to put a damper on your day, and completely ruin a session. And with daylight savings in full effect, the amount of usable light to film with is dramatically shortened. Making it hard to get in a full days work unless you’re up and ready early enough to catch the good light. Here’s a screenshot of Mike fixing a flat from coming up short on an up rail. When is the last time you found yourself w/ a flat?

it really is the worst. got one a few weeks ago, it was dark already and way too cold to fix it and continue riding.

I always seem to get flats when I’m traveling/riding to the train station. Usually just end up riding on it the whole way (fuck it)

Just got a flat on Tuesday, had to ride to my friends house on a flat to get a tube, tricking on 700x35c is not the business :\
M@ Reyes
I tricked on 35c’s & 25c’s for years

I only get flats when i’m not even near home. The worst was when I was leaving school the other night. Had to trek it though Los Altos Hills on a flat. Not the funnest to say the least

@Jay Manalo.. I trick on 700x35c and i do 180s, 360s off stage solid. Gotta get em heavy duty tubes. I hate running skinny tho. Last time I got a flat was when I 360d a stage and landed on a sharp rock. GAY SHYTTTT.

You make a great case my friend. Heavy duty is the way to do it as long as you don’t mind the added weight.
Ryan Mamaradlo
I only get flats from punctures or clipping something.. I used to always get bubbled tubes a year ago. :[
Francis
yeah, i dont mind having heavy as long as i can throw my bike around!

yomp, I’d rather have a little extra weight to not have to deal with the maintenance.
