WHEEL TALK + SPL PICTURES

A while back we teamed up with our friends at SPL Pictures to film this Slow Motion video in San Francisco. Everything was shot on the Sony FS700 and RED Epic, with Cine-Xenar III lenses provided by Schneider Optics. Special thanks to Solid Camera for outfitting the FS700’s for the shoot & our dudes Chris Marino, Tyler Lee Cushing, and Scott Lyman for coming out to film. Without their help, this video would not have been possible. Enough talking, if you want to learn more, check out the vimeo page if not, press play. Watch it HERE

FILMING WITH MIKE SCHMITT

Mike Schmitt moved from the couch and into a room of his own earlier this month. Needless to say we’ll be filming even more now that he’s located a door down. It’s always nice living with the people you ride with. Makes things a lot easier.

MIKE SCHMITT | HIGHS & LOWS

I recently rediscovered this photo of Mike Schmitt doing a downhill smith lurking in the archives. This whole block has a series of out ledges starting out low and ending high. The crazy amount of hills in SF makes for some pretty unique street spots if you’re willing to make the trek uphill in search of them. If the journey to the spot doesn’t strip you of all energy the ride up and down the hill to hit the spot might.

MIKE SCHMITT | RINNG PARTS

Rinng is a newly emerging Fixed Freestyle parts company based out of Japan, and have been working with Mike Schmitt for some time now. He’s been helping them out w/ product design and is now the US Team manager. I’ve been running their plastic pegs in the front for a while, and am real into the length of 4.6″ pegs. Makes it a lot easier to stay connected without slipping off. Be on the look out for more from Rinng.

MIKE SCHMITT | FRESHLY BUILT

Mike Schmitt is a madman when it comes to the big and burly. He’s always throwing himself onto the craziest hubbas and taking some of the hardest falls. Seitaro shot this photo of him racking a pedal feeble down a freshly built hubba here in San Francisco. Expect to see more of Mike in an upcoming Grime Video.

RIDE + STYLE 2013 | MIKE ON MIC

Mike T. Schmitt and the announcer for the Golden State Warriors were the Master of Ceremonies at the 2013 Red Bull Ride & Style. He kept it real interesting with all the hilarious commentary on the riders. His inside knowledge on everybody over the years definitely payed off that day as he talked about my cat Stella, Devon “the people’s champ”, and how he spent christmas w/ the Santos family one year. I had so many people come up to me after the event and say how much they loved Mike on the mic. Definitely need to have him as an MC next year.

MIKE SCHMITT | DOWN TOWN SF

It’s been great having Mike Schmitt back in San Francisco. He gets off work around three everyday, giving us plenty of time to catch some clips and ride around before the sun sets. He’s always making obstacles out of trash off the street, and is constantly coming up w/ crazy ways to hit shit.

MIKE SCHMITT | BURRO MUDFLAP

Here’s a photo that I took of Mike T Schmitt riding his signature MTS Burro Mudflaps, which are now available in Staph Infection Red. The ability to customize your inserts is a nice touch. They come stock with a meat insert and a photo of Mike’s open knee while in surgery. For those who don’t know Mike got some crazy Island funk while we were in Puerto Rico and had to fly back to the US to get Surgery. Hense the custom colorway, and choice in inserts. I find it funny that they come with a photo of meat considering Mike is vegan.

MTS | GRIME GHOST FRAME

Here’s a couple photos that I shot of Mike T Schmitt building up his bike in iMiNUSD a while back. I pretty sure this was the day that he got his bike back from Puerto Rico. Anyways the Ghost Frame is now on sale for only $329, which is a damn good deal considering what the price of frames used to be. Head into IMD to pick one up or order one online at Grime Bikes.
