Here’s a shot of young Jonah Kessel riding one of the benches out front of iMiNUSD in down town San Jose. He picked up bench stalls earlier that day and stuck a couple for the camera just as the sun was going down. Looking good in that Wheel Talk Tee.
Snapped this shot of everyone’s favorite Joshua Boothby when he spent the day in the city a while back. We rode this skinny downhill just long enough to catch some clips and this photo before taking off. When I rolled up to the spot later that week, I was sad to find that they had capped the entire length of the ledge making it nearly impossible to ride. City planning sure knows how to kill a good time. Fun Police.
Matt Rice popped off this photo of me hopping over this chain to bank when we went to Oakland to ride some uncharted street spots. Taken a while back, I completely forgot about this until I saw he posted it earlier today. Looks bigger than I remember.
Today I met up with Forest Parker and rode around with him down town for a hot minute. In the half hour we were riding I snapped off this photo of him boosting off of this wedge in front of San Francisco’s City Hall. Putting on a show for the homeless guys sunbathing in the grass.
Here’s some shots of Destroy Bikes‘ Daniel Torres, better known as Danimal posted up next to his beefy 29er build. Gotta give it to him, I don’t know how he’s able to throw around that big boy bike as easily as he does. Believe me, I’ve tried, that shit aint easy. He’s got some hops on him to get up on that rail. It used to be all about who could hop the most stairs, now its who can grind the highest ledge/rail. What will it be next?
Here’s a shot that I caught of LDG‘s Forest Parker the last time it rained like mad here in the city. It’s been great having Forest live up in the city, it gives me someone else to ride w/ up here. I always see him shredding the red bricks out front of the Civic Center, and the banks at the Federal Buildings. Even in the pouring rain he still bust tricks like it’s dry out, can’t keep the man down.
Christian Hamrick aka “Hambone” just recently moved to San Jose and got a place w/ Mike Schmitt & Devo. I caught these photos of him hitting an opposite smith at the end of the day, just before Gonzo and I hopped on Cal Train and headed back up to San Francisco. I woke up this morning to pictures of Hambone’s mangled face all over facebook. I haven’t heard what happened yet, but i hope it isn’t anything severe. Shoot him a message, saying get well soon. Heal up buddy.
Caught this photo of Johnny Coward hopping over this wall while we were mucking around San Francisco over the weekend. One of my favorite parts about riding is all the people you meet and places you discover along the way.
I caught this picture of Jonah Kessel throwing a tuck no hander while we spent the day hanging out in Venice Beach. Jonah has mad bike handling for someone his age, and it’s rippers like him that are going to be the future of the sport.
I took this photo of Francis Roque throwing a barspin, his 1st day on his new PFIX. It’s been sitting in my flickr for a while, and I figured I’d post it now since it didn’t make the cut the 1st time around. For those who don’t know, he was the winner of our New Bike for a New Year contest. He’s been putting in work on the bike for a while now, and he already has better form than I do with those barspins. Pinch those knees.
