Wheel Talk, Straight Up SJ & Breezy Excursion teamed up to shoot this lookbook for their 2014 Summer Collection. Wheel Talk’s very own Scott Horton was around when we first started the team and now he’s popping wheelies and blowing smoke with his buddies on a much larger scale. Stoked to see him shredding with guys like Roger Regan and the rest of the dudes from Straight up who continue to push not only themselves but the perception of what’s possible on a bike that size. The saying “I just want to do hood-rat shit with my friends” has never rang so true.
With more than 30 riders from all over the world competing in the freestyle event, things were bound to get wild as everybody geared up for the 2014 Red Bull Ride & Style. Each year they mix up the course and this year they really out did themselves creating one of the best flowing layouts to date. Everyone brought their A-game that day as they stepped up to the plate to empty out their bag of tricks. Elliott Milner brought was linking together lines on the park like he’s ridden it his whole life. Jakob Santos hucked something huge off just about every object there. Joe Mckeag showed everyone what it looks like to ride transition, and Johnathan Ball wasn’t letting anything go untouched. There’s too much that went down for me to even begin to discuss, so I’m just going to have to let the video speak for itself. Read more below to see the final results. Before the official release of Word Is Bond we hosted 2 premieres in California. One at Lower Branch Art Gallery in San Francisco, and the second at iMiNUSD in San Jose. We met up with some of the locals in SJ & cruised around from spot to spot. Thanks for everyone who came out to ride and hang out.

After nearly a year of filming with the Turf Mob we’re proud to introduce our first video as a team, “Word Is Bond”. We spent most of 2013 filming across the US, with riders from all over the world. Thank you to everyone who helped film, drive, watch for security, buy snacks, and come out to ride. This video wouldn’t haven been possible without you.

Usually the only videos that have premiere’s are DVD’s, but considering the amount of time we spent making this monumental video, we decided to make an exception. Christian Hamrick collected clips for the Turf Bikes “Word Is Bond” Video while he was on the Coast to Ghost Trip and during a short visit he made to the West Coast. Hambone is currently living in Kansas City, a place which I’m told has unreal street spots. We might just have to make a trip out there to investigate these so called spots. If you live near San Jose, come out to the premiere being held at iMiNUSD on Saturday April 12th. We’re going to meet up and ride earlier during the day and then head to ID doors open at 7:30. Tonight we’re premiering “Word Is Bond” in San Francisco. If you live in the area you should come out to Lower Branch at 8pm & kick it with the rest of the Fixed Freestyle scene here in the Bay.
