Matt Reyes / 21 / San Francisco, California
I got into riding fixed because I moved up to San Francisco and got tired of pushing wood around the shitty city streets so I started saving up parts to build a bike of my own. I don’t have a car and rely on my bike entirely as my sole means of trans. Driving makes me aggravated, I enjoy the sense of freedom I have riding a bike.

Jeff Dempler / 21 / Gilroy, California
I have been riding bikes for As long as I can ‘member. I rode downhill for about 4 years, got my bike stolen then hopped on a 1972 Batavus conversion. I ride my bike everyday, I decided to make something out of it.

Scott Horton / 19 / San Jose, California
I started riding fixed as part of my training for motocross, & I’ve always ridden dirt jumps on mountain bikes. So I put together two of my favorite things, and now I ride #FixedGearFreeStyle.

I got into riding fixed gear bikes back in 2007 when I was living in San Diego. I later moved to Gilroy in Summer of 2008 and met Swan who was the only person in town with a fixed gear. We kicked it and started practicing backwards circles and keo spins. Around Winter of 2008 I met Matt Reyes who was going to school in SF. I met Matt when he when was still pushing wood around and told him to get on a bike. Around Chrismtas I hooked him up with my old Raleigh frame and got him on a bike. Since then we kicked it and practiced tricks and had fun. Summer 09 moved up to Portland to hopefully discover a fixed scene in the most bike friendly city that didn’t exist. I moved back to the bay area in early 2010 and moved in with Jeffy and started riding everyday with the homies. We became good friends with Scott and then it just happened from there. Now its just about progressing the scene & having a fun time while doing it.
