Last Saturday Ramon Antonio hosted the “Still Pourland” premiere here in San Francisco, and all the usual suspects came out of the woodwork for the event. Valentin Racho showed up as well as Jeff Dempler, Alex Blanco and many others. We met up at Soma West Skatepark and rode there for a few hours. Stacking clips, cracking cans, and hanging out until the video premiere at Chrome Industries in the Mission. I brought a pizza to the jam so you know it was a party. I’m sure Mon will make a video from this at some point, but here are some photos from the day until then. The scene needs more meetups like this.
Our good friends & partners in crime at TURF Bikes just released the friends section from the full length video we made in 2014. If you never saw this or just haven’t watched it in a while, then go ahead and do yourself a favor by pressing play and getting back up to speed. The majority of the footage was shot during the cross country road trip everyone to from NY to CA for the 2013 Red Bull Ride & Style. Keep your eyes peeled for the last 3 sections of the video dropping this month.
First things first, huge shout out to everybody who came to the the 2015 SF Bike Expo to ride, kick it and support the scene. It’s times like this and friends of this caliber that remind me of why I started riding FGFS to begin with. None of this would have been possible without you, and after seeing the stoke this event cultivated we’re going to pick up the pace on hosting more FGFS Jams of our own. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this happen and keep your eyes peeled for the video of the event. Coverage of the 2015 SF Bike Expo provided by Suck My Cog & Wheel Talk
With more than 30 riders from all over the world competing in the freestyle event, things were bound to get wild as everybody geared up for the 2014 Red Bull Ride & Style. Each year they mix up the course and this year they really out did themselves creating one of the best flowing layouts to date. Everyone brought their A-game that day as they stepped up to the plate to empty out their bag of tricks. Elliott Milner brought was linking together lines on the park like he’s ridden it his whole life. Jakob Santos hucked something huge off just about every object there. Joe Mckeag showed everyone what it looks like to ride transition, and Johnathan Ball wasn’t letting anything go untouched. There’s too much that went down for me to even begin to discuss, so I’m just going to have to let the video speak for itself. Read more below to see the final results. Thanks to Dave Beard for shooting the photos for the thumbnail.
There were a handful of new faces on the court who came out to do damage and show us what they’re made of. Our dude Valentin Racho was out there throwing some of the bigger & more obscure barspin combos of the day. Nobody knew what to expect when Valentin charged up this 8ft bubba and threw a massive truck driver off the top. Shout out to Garth Milan for shooting this flick of our dude during one of his heats.

With only hours left on the clock until we release “Word Is Bond”, we decided to give you a final taste of what’s to come. Here’s a bunch of screen shots from the Friends Section in the video. Showcasing riders from all over the world, this collaborative effort is something that you won’t want to miss. Check out more screen grabs below. (more…)
Today I did some digging though our archives and came across this post that was put together but never published. I figured there’s no time like the present, and that we better get this out there before we enter into the new year. A while back Jeff Dempler made it down to Venice Beach, in Southern California for the 2013 Summer Fix. He spent most of his time behind the camera capturing most of the madness that went down that weekend. Jakob Santos blew everyone away with the huge wallrides he was blasting out of the quarter pipe against the handball court. Elliott Milner destroyed the flat rail, Joe Mckeag clicked some dialed tabletops, and our dude Valentin Racho threw barspins over just about every obstacle there. Click the “Read More” button below to check out the rest of Jeff’s photo set. (more…)
Wheel Talk Team Member Valentin Racho has some of the most technical barspin tricks in the game. Seitaro Iki shot this photo of him throwing a barspin into the bank at some skatepark in Southern California. With the Team living all across the country we don’t get to ride together as much as we’d like. But it gives us the opportunity to act as ambassadors and help push the scene in each of our respective communities. Valentin is the youngest dude on the team, and is going to play a huge role the future of Fixed Freestyle
Seitaro Iki took this photo of our dude Valentin Racho throwing a barspin into some skatepark in Southern California. If you didn’t hear, Valentin won first at Summer Fix this year by throwing some of the craziest combos of the day. I wasn’t there, but the Video that Zane put out of the competition spoke for itself. I was real stoked to see so many people crushing it this year, the level of competition is higher than ever, and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon.
