MATT REYES | CHAIN HOP

Matt Rice popped off this photo of me hopping over this chain to bank when we went to Oakland to ride some uncharted street spots. Taken a while back, I completely forgot about this until I saw he posted it earlier today. Looks bigger than I remember.

MATT REYES + SADIO

Mike Schmitt took this photo of me riding one of the abandoned military bunkers lining the coast of San Francisco. I’ve been riding SADIO parts + components for nearly a year now, and I’m still on all the same parts I started with. The guys out there in Thailand are all homies, and the SADIO Team is one of the best in the business. They’ve got a whole new line up of light products coming out in Spring. Keep your eyes out for that and much more coming out from them in the near future.

IMINUSD | MATT REYES

Found this advertisement on iMiNUSD’s Blog this morning, here’s what they had to say. “Our boy JeffyD caught this photo of IMD Rider Matt Reyes ripping through this dirt berm at Calabazas a while back. We never used it for anything, so we decided to chop it up into this little ad. These guys sure do love dirt.” Credit : Jeff Dempler

MATT REYES | OVER EXPOSED

Mike Schmitt caught this slightly over exposed shot of me while we were out filming in the Persidio last weekend. This tuck no into the steep/muddy grass bank was one of the last things we captured before the sun set on another mint day in the city. With tuck no handers it’s all about folding up like a lawn chair and touching your shoulder to that front wheel. They are almost like barspins, you just have to throw those bars.

SEPTEMBER MONTAGE 2011

Here is a little minute long montage of footage that I shot during the last week of September. Everything from footage of the Bicycle Film Festival in San Francisco, to my cat Stella hanging out on the couch while I put this together. This is more of a lifestyle piece than anything, and after making it makes me want to do day in the life edits of everyone. Maybe even an episode of Cribs, we’ll see.

BRYAN DEMPLER PHOTOGRAPHY

Here’s just a taste of some of the photos that my roommate Bryan Dempler has been shooting since he upgraded to a 7D last week. We’ve been going out on rides around the city w/ our cameras on the daily. Getting some of those iconic city shots, not to mention some pretty killer riding ones in between. He just made a Flickr account today. You can check out more of his photos HERE. Photo Credit : Bryan Dempler

SLUM : 3RD + ARMY

After our quick little session @ the SF skate park Scott & I rode to 3rd & Army one of San Francisco’s most legendary skate spots. Here’s a photo that Scott took of me hitting an ice pick across the entire top of this table. The bottom photo is a screen shot off of a video clip of the ice to tuck out.

ICE PICK COMBOS

Today I went out for a ride through Golden Gate Park w/ my roommate (Jeff’s older brother) Bryan Dempler. Towards the end of our ride we made a pit stop & played with some ice pick combos on this decayed planter box. Photo Credit : Bryan Dempler

THE OVERGROWN COMPOUND

Last weekend, Ed Wonka, Scott Horton, and myself (Matt Reyes) spent some time cleaning up The Wheel Talk Compound, after months of neglect. Nothing a hose, some rakes, shovels, and brooms can’t fix. We had our good friend Mikul Eriksson come out and w/ a bunch of his video equipment and film our little afternoon session. Totally digging the way this video turned out, nothing but chill vibes and tandem lines.
