First things first, huge shout out to everybody who came to the the 2015 SF Bike Expo to ride, kick it and support the scene. It’s times like this and friends of this caliber that remind me of why I started riding FGFS to begin with. None of this would have been possible without you, and after seeing the stoke this event cultivated we’re going to pick up the pace on hosting more FGFS Jams of our own. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this happen and keep your eyes peeled for the video of the event. Coverage of the 2015 SF Bike Expo provided by Suck My Cog & Wheel Talk
Last Saturday the FIXIEBOYZ408 came to The City to hangout and ride for the day. We met up at Wallenberg and warmed up for a bit before exploring the neighborhood to ride some spots we haven’t been to in a while. Jimmy Watcha killed it as always, Daniel Le kicked a bunch of one footed cans throughout the day, and Peter Van Nguyen linked at least one technical line at every spot we went to. It was good to catch some photos of Spencer Siegrist for a change, especially considering the fact he’s there most of the time we’re out filming. After all was said and done, Mike Schmitt walked away with the photo of the day after skidding through a lone pile of sand. Check out more shots below and hit us up if you want to ride this weekend.

Jimmy Watcha has been riding for Pagan Bikes for a while now and just built up this wild iridescent frame with oil slick paint. I saw he posted pictures of it fresh out of the box on his instagram so when we met up to ride on Saturday I took a moment to snap these quick shots of it. Keep your eyes peeled for a full bike check the next few weeks.
On Saturday the FIXIEBOYZ408 packed their bikes, piled into a van and drove up to San Francisco to ride with us for the day. We met up at 3rd & Army, and then ventured into Hunters Point from there. Our goal was to work our way to Hilltop park and hit whatever spots we found along the way until eventually arriving at San Francisco’s oldest skatepark, The Dish. After that we roamed around the neighborhood until we came across this abandoned school with a bunch of unique things to ride. Keep your eyes peeled for footage of this day coming from both us and the Fixie Boyz themselves. // 07.18.2015

With the new year right around the corner I took the time today to go through and post some photos from when Jaoa Danaikrit was staying with us in the Bay Area earlier this year. My personal favorite photo from this set is the shot of Jaoa standing next to my Dad (Wheel Talk Team Manager) after a long day at the horse races in Berkley. There’s nothing like betting on ponies, drinking dollar beers, and eating hot dogs while spending quality time with the family. The shot of everybody posted up next to the Rack Solid van was from the day we filmed the “Alameda Send Off” video of the Thai dudes last day in town. It’s a wrap folks. After a couple weeks in the editing booth this is the official coverage of the first Harness The Gnarness Jam in Oakland. Big thanks to everyone who came out to ride, film, kick it and make this event such a good time. It couldn’t have been done without you. We plan to make it a series of Jams hosted by different riders in the city of their choice. So keep your ear to the ground because this may be the first, but it certainly won’t be the last. Check out some screen shots below.
Every so often the dudes from San Jose come up to stay at our pad in the East Bay and ride over the weekend. Jimmy Watcha, Kent Ly, and Luciano Ortiz are just a few of the local riders from SJ that you should keep your eye on. After a long day of riding street spots in Oakland, we hit up China Town to grab some cheap grub before riding back under the bay through the Webster Tube. Check out more 35mm Photos HERE.
After more than 3 months of surfing the couches at our pad in Alameda, Dew Sippawit & Jaoa Danaikrit reluctantly flew back to Thailand last month. We celebrated their final day in the States by kicking back and cutting loose at the local skatepark. A couple of dudes from San Jose drove up the day before to ride and bid the Thai boys a proper farewell. We stacked a ton of footage while they were here, and just got back from a trip to China, so keep your eyes peeled for more of Dew & Jaoa coming in the near future. Read more and check out some stills from the video below.

With more than 30 riders from all over the world competing in the freestyle event, things were bound to get wild as everybody geared up for the 2014 Red Bull Ride & Style. Each year they mix up the course and this year they really out did themselves creating one of the best flowing layouts to date. Everyone brought their A-game that day as they stepped up to the plate to empty out their bag of tricks. Elliott Milner brought was linking together lines on the park like he’s ridden it his whole life. Jakob Santos hucked something huge off just about every object there. Joe Mckeag showed everyone what it looks like to ride transition, and Johnathan Ball wasn’t letting anything go untouched. There’s too much that went down for me to even begin to discuss, so I’m just going to have to let the video speak for itself. Read more below to see the final results. Thanks to Dave Beard for shooting the photos for the thumbnail.

Tonight we’re premiering “Word Is Bond” in San Francisco. If you live in the area you should come out to Lower Branch at 8pm & kick it with the rest of the Fixed Freestyle scene here in the Bay. Here’s some screen shots of Jimmy Watcha, as motivation to make it to the event. Jimmy may be the youngest member on the Turf Mob, be he holds his own and manhandles his bike like a lion tamer. Come see for yourself, we’ll be at this address HERE. Check out more below. (more…)
