CHROME INDUSTRIES – A WALK AND TALK W/ RICKY POWELL (THE LAZY HUSTLER)

Earlier this year Chrome Industries flew us out to NYC for RHC in Brooklyn. During our time there we managed to set up some time with Ricky Powell (The Lazy Hustler). We weren’t sure for what, but we knew we wanted to make a video. When Ricky asked us what we wanted to shoot, we shrugged our shoulders and asked him to show us around his neighborhood. He very calmly said “okay” and jumped right into it. This is what we captured. Turn on, tune in, drop out and explode as New York’s favorite hustler takes us on a tour of the ol’ neighborhood.

MATT REYES – FGFS PORTLAND “PUMP UP THE JAM”

With the move to Portland last Summer I knew I wanted to come out with a quick FGFS jammer and with the recent release of the “Still Pourland” video I figured now is as good a time as any to drop it. Some of it is in the full length, some of it isn’t. Either way it’s a fun little jammer built from the few days we filmed with everybody for the full length here in Portland. I’m really looking forward to bouncing back and being able bodied enough to ride the FGFS build again. Until then it’s been great having Jaoa Danaikrit around to point my camera at and live vicariously through. Keep your eyes peeled for another video of Jaoa dropping soon and pick up a copy of “Still Pourland” to see other sections of the video.

BONE MACHINE CRIT 2018 (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Bone Machine Crit 2018 popped off in Portland last month and it completely turned the city on it’s head. With riders from across the country competing in a weekend packed full of events the sense of community was strong here in the PNW.

Shout out to all the sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who came out to contribute to the good times. Check out some screen shots + the results below and we’ll see you next year.

JAOA DANAIKRIT – ROSE CITY 2018

Jaoa Danaikrit is like a brother of mine and for the past few months he’s been staying at our pad in Portland. I’ve completely lost track of the number of times he’s come to live with us over the years. It’s always for like 3 months at a time. Anyways. The first we did when he got here was built up this bike from spare parts I had lying around the garage. He took to it immediately, and last month we shot this little weekend jammer over the course of well… 2 days. It’s been great having him here to film and search for spots with. I feel like I’m living vicariously watching him ride as I heal up. Hoping to be back up to speed soon so I can check a few things off my list before the Summer is up. Until then I’ll just make Jaoa hit things for the both of us.

THROWBACK – SCOTT HORTON + WHEEL TALK 2011

Scott Horton was our San Jose homie who came from a motocross background. We spent a ton of time sleeping over at his house so we could ride DTSJ and hang out at iMiNUSD. Here’s the “Welcome to Sadio” part we filmed of him back in 2011.

FIXED GEAR – 420 ALLEY CAT IN SAN FRANCISCO

It’s four-twenty in San Francisco, and you know what that means. Bikes & buds. We got the gang together and rode around earlier in the day before heading to Union Square for the start of the 3rd Annual 420 Alley Cat. With Mission Crit right around the corner, the turn out for unsanctioned good time was insane. I only rode to half the race before throwing in the towel and taking a load off at the final checkpoint. Joints were being thrown, beers were being slammed and friendly rivalries met their match as people began to trickle into the after party. Shout out to everyone who helped throw this eventful weekend, and to Crihs Thormann for making it even more memorable.

I had a ton of fun piecing this one together, and am stoked to spend more time shooting with this GoPro we just added to our camera arsenal. Keep your eyes peeled for more fun follow footage in the near future.

MATT REYES – MASHSF STEEL FRAME 05.12.18

Things have been heating up here in Portland, and it seems like the entire city is waking up from hibernation. Ramon Antonio, SLAM DUNK ERNIE & I hit the town and shot some clips on this GoPro I just picked up. This is the first cut I’ve made with it and am looking forward to having a new camera to play with. This is the first time I’ve ever done a foot jam tailwhip on a fixed gear. Not to say that I had this trick down on other bikes, I just remember trying this trick as a kid and never being able to stick it.

WHEEL TALK – HITTING THE BOOKS AT SF STATE

With everyone in town for Mission Crit and it being the day after 420, we decided to get the gang together and have a chill session in The Sunset. We warmed up at the skatepark on 42nd Ave (Watch that video HERE) then packed up the van and headed to SF State for the rest of the afternoon. Jimmy ripped his shirt off his body, Deacon live streamed everything on snapchat and we hung out with a scooter kid for once. This plus much more in this one day video, stop reading and just hit play.

CHROME INDUSTRIES – BUILT FOR THIS: DIMA 2.0 (FEATURING JOHNATHAN BALL)

Chrome Industries just dropped this video I shot of Johnathan Ball when we were in LA recently. What was only supposed to be a photoshoot turned into JBall & I stacking clips on the side for fun. We then later took that footage and turned it into this promo video for the newly designed Dima 2.0. It’s tight that these shoes are made with the rider in mind and have a built in Propulsion Shank (Learn More) to better distribute the impact from landing and keep your foot from painfully flexing over the pedal. I used to wear Chrome shoes religiously solely because of this feature. Check out more of their bike shoes HERE.
