Hiro Nakajima was in San Francisco for Red Bull Ride + Style a little while back. I managed to catch up w/ him at “The Island” while Boothby and I were riding there a few weeks ago. He recently released an edit of his trip to SF. I always like seeing other people shred spots in my backyard. Check it out HERE.
Miles Mathia kicked it w/ me in SF for the week he was in the city for Red Bull Ride + Style. It was a blast having Miles in town for a hot min, the dude rips on a bike. Which is why he recently got picked up by SKYLMT. I can’t wait to see what Miles does from here, the dirt edit he put out a while ago is one of my favorite fixed videos of all time.
The Fixed Gear scene in San Jose has hands down the largest community of freestyle riders I’ve ever seen. It’s the kind of place where people don’t just ride bikes, they ride fixed gear. Every time I go down there to ride it seems like there are more and more kids popping out of the woodwork. At this rate, it looks like Fixed Freestyle will be around for a long time to come.
Simon Andraca flew across the pond from Paris to ride in this year’s Red Bull Ride + Style. He stayed at our good friend Alex’s old house just a couple of blocks away from my pad in San Francisco. We did it up French Style the entire time they were here, riding during the day and raging at night. He went back to France for a hot min, but he’ll be back here in the States before you know it.
Photographers John Watson and Matt Lingo were at Red Bull Ride + Style w/ their guns in hand. Ready to capture and shoot all the pain, glory, blood sweat, and action that went down at the event. This is one of the few times a year that everyone is drawn together to spend time riding + hanging out with one another. It’s great to see people that I feel are my close friends, but never get to see.
John Watson recently released a collection of photos that he took at the 2nd annual Red Bull Ride + Style. This one is by far my favorite out of the set, and shows cases what these events are all about. Bringing together riders + friends from all over the world to spend the day doing what we do best. Riding bikes & hanging out.
If you’re ever tired from riding, and just need a place to sit down, then look no further than the bike between your legs. With this tried and true technique, you’ll be able to pop a squat wherever you may be. Good conditions, bad conditions, the bicycle seat has you covered. Try it now while our limited time offer of Free99 still stands.
iMiNUSD posted this photo I took of Ed Wonka checking out this shitty little aluminum handrail, while he was filming with me in SF. The moment he went for it, it kicked him over the bars and sent him flying like a rocket man 10+ feet out. That’s why you don’t mess with aluminum hand rails.
