JAOA DANAIKRIT + WHEEL TALK

Wheel Talk would like to welcome Thailand’s very own Jaoa Danaikrit as the newest member to the WT Team. Filmed in the Bay Area over the course of his 3 month stay in America. Jaoa is one of the most impressive riders I’ve ever had the privilege of shooting. He bring tricks to the table that not very many other riders have, take his monstrous icepicks and his lengthy nose manuals for instance. I’d like to go ahead and thank Jeff Dempler, Devon Lawson & Dew Sippawit for helping film this edit. Click the read more to check out a bunch of screen shots from the video.

ED WONKA | BROOKLYN NEKST

A while back I spent some time w/ Ed Wonka Laforte at his pad in Brooklyn NY. On our way to and from the Williamsburg Bridge we began to notice a bunch of people working on covering an entire city block with Nekst fills. It’s rad to see the community come together to honor a fallen friend. RIP Nekst.

SUMMER FIX 2013

Today I did some digging though our archives and came across this post that was put together but never published. I figured there’s no time like the present, and that we better get this out there before we enter into the new year. A while back Jeff Dempler made it down to Venice Beach, in Southern California for the 2013 Summer Fix. He spent most of his time behind the camera capturing most of the madness that went down that weekend. Jakob Santos blew everyone away with the huge wallrides he was blasting out of the quarter pipe against the handball court. Elliott Milner destroyed the flat rail, Joe Mckeag clicked some dialed tabletops, and our dude Valentin Racho threw barspins over just about every obstacle there. Click the “Read More” button below to check out the rest of Jeff’s photo set. (more…)

TOMMY MAO IN SAN FRANCISCO

Tommy Mao has been going to school and living in San Francisco for quite some time now. Occasionally he comes out to shred and explore what street spots SF has to offer. I took this picture of him posted up in front of a Mexican market in The Mission a while ago. If anybody has seen Tommy lately, they know this is an older photo of him solely based on the fact that he’s missing the manly beard he’s developed over the last couple of months. There’s nothing like a couple chin hairs to make you look 10 older. Be on the lookout for more photos of Tommy mobbing around w/ us.

TURF “WORD IS BOND” TEASER

From the ashes of The Grime, a new bike company has risen. TURF is a Fixed Gear Freestyle company established late 2013. We’ve spent the majority of this year filming all over the country with some of the best in the business to bring you a video that you won’t soon forget. This 2 minute teaser is just a taste of what’s to come. Keep your eyes peeled for the full length video dropping early 2014. WORD-IS-BOND

ANTHONY COMBS | ELEVATED

Its a well known fact that Anthony Combs has some of the biggest hops in the game, and is a regular kangaroo jack of the Fixed Freestyle scene. But little know that he’s one of the funniest dudes you’ll probably ever meet. He’s also an impressionist, a designer, and a cold blooded killer on the dance floor. Stay tuned for more little known facts about the team. Photo Credit : Jason Sellers

DEVON LAWSON | WALL ICEPICK

San Francisco is so densely packed with street spots that often times we wander aimlessly in search of new shit to shred. Seitaro Iki took this photo of Devon Lawson hitting an ice pick on this wall rail we found in our neighborhood. I’m usually not that into vertical compositions, but lately I feel like I enjoy them more and more. It could be that I spend so much time working with video that I’m not used to so many vertical pixels. Now I know what you’re thinking, and you’re correct. The “Big D” is Devon’s pro model hat from Premier Fits. Check out some more of Seitaro’s photography around the city HERE.

JEFF DEMPLER WHEEL TALK 2013

This is hands down Jeff Dempler’s best work yet. He’s released a few Solo edits over the course of this year, none of which hit harder than this one. He’s been around since the creation of Wheel Talk and was the one who pushed me to ride in the early years. All of the follow shots in this looked butter smooth and gave the video a fast pace feel. It’s been a strong year for us over here at Wheel Talk and we’re already brewing plans of attack for next year. Until then press play and enjoy. (more…)

HAMBONE | ELECTRIC SLIDE

Christian Hamrick went down and slammed into this electrical box while trying to catch a line in Oakland today. He’s alright, but is pretty banged up. We’ve been mobbing around with a ton of people lately. Which has been a refreshing change of pace after doing so much riding alone in The City. Dave Beard is on it with the photos, and already posted a bunch of shots from today. Head over to his website to check out more. Photo Credit – Dave Beard

TURF | COMMUNITY SERVICE

On the way to the spot we stopped by a hardware store to pick up some supplies so we could do some community service and open up a new spot. The bolts used to cap these rails were no match for our massive monkey wrench. We all stuck some tricks, packed up our bags and headed into downtown Oakland in search of street spots. We concentrate so much time in catching the clip that we often forget to get a photo. It’s been rad having Dave Beard around to shoot photos while we’re filming.
